PRSA Nebraska Members Make Big Waves, Honored for Leadership
PRSA Nebraska members constantly and consistently contribute to the field of communications—making an impact nationally and locally as professionals who lead and communicate with purpose.
Three of our PRSA Nebraska members have recently made big waves locally and nationally and we would like to join in on the celebration of their achievements!
Congratulations to Will Ackerman, M.A., M.S., #PRSANE Board Communications Chair, who has been named the National Association of Government Communicators 2021 Communicator of the Year! The Communicator of the Year Award recognizes a government communicator who has fostered public trust and personifies the role by delivering timely, accurate and meaningful information to the public. As a VA strategic communications lead, Will is responsible for the research, planning, evaluation and implementation of all messages, products and content to various nationwide stakeholders, including 9 million veterans, 300,000 VHA employees and over 750,0000 community health care providers. Way to go, Will! What an incredible honor and accomplishment!

We would like to give a shout-out and round of applause to former #PRSANE President and current member, Kelsey Bugjo! Kelsey was recently honored with the UNO School of Communication 2021 Alumni Achievement Award. Kelsey serves as the PR and Marketing Content Director for Speedway Motors, Inc. and has been a leader in the field of PR and communications for more than 15 years. Congratulations, Kelsey!

#LeadershipOmaha Class 43 recently wrapped and one of the graduating members is Erin Van Zee, PRSA Nebraska Board of Directors Monthly Program Chair. In addition to taking part in the class, Erin has been chronicling the experience for the Leadership Omaha blog. Congratulations, Erin!

Leadership Omaha is a 10-month program that creates awareness of our community’s challenges and motivates its participants to define their commitment to a lasting impact.
The Greater Omaha Chamber launched Leadership Omaha in 1978 to develop effective leaders who will strengthen and transform the community. A selection committee of program alumni and Chamber board members ensures that each class of 45 to 49 participants reflects the diversity of the entire community.
Erin serves as the Communication Director at RDG Planning & Design.
