Jennifer Bull has been an active and respected member of PRSA Nebraska for a decade and enjoys the networking and professional development her membership brings.
Her passion for PR began while attending Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona, pursuing a major in vocal performance. She changed her major to communications, earning a bachelor’s degree and MBA certificate from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. 
While no longer her field of study, Jennifer has kept her love of vocal performance alive since college as a semi-professional singer for Opera Omaha.
Throughout her 23-year career, Jennifer has always enjoyed working for and partnering with organizations that positively impact the community. She is currently the Communications Coordinator for the Behavioral Health Education Center of Nebraska (BHECN) at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). She has been a part of the BHECN team for the last five years. Jennifer’s main objective is to enhance the workforce in the behavioral health sector in Nebraska. A portion of her role involves traveling around the state and communicating with students and professionals regarding careers in and resources for the field.
Jennifer says Nebraska has a vast need for behavioral health professionals, “Eighty-eight of 93 counties meet federal guidelines for a shortage of behavioral health professionals, 29 counties lack any providers, and half the current workforce is over 50. When you add to the equation that one in five Nebraskans has a mental health diagnosis or a substance use disorder, you understand why supporting this workforce is essential.”
In 2022, she was awarded the Silver U at UNMC for her exemplary work and leadership at BHECN.
In her spare time, in addition to singing, Jennifer can be found creating art—she makes glass beads and other small glass creations. She also enjoys spending time as a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA). It has approximately 30,000 members worldwide who study and recreate medieval history.
