Five Reasons to Join the Best of Nebraska in the PRSA Paper Anvil Awards
Even though we’ve barely turned the pages on the 2022 calendar, it’s time to start planning for the 2022 PRSA Nebraska Paper Anvil Awards. We are eager to celebrate the best public relations and communications in Nebraska with this year’s competition.
Here are a few things to help you prepare:
- In-Person Gala Event
Yes, we’re looking forward to seeing your smiling faces outside of a Zoom screen. The committee is currently working on securing the perfect location. Watch for more details.
- Same Categories, Submissions Criteria and Schedule
For anyone who wants to get a jumpstart on their entries, you can plan on the same categories, submissions format and schedule as 2021. We’ll start accepting entries in August with the final deadline in September.
- Open to Nebraska Agencies, Freelance, In-House Professionals and Students
Here’s a little-known secret, while most of the entries come from advertising and PR agencies, the last four Best in Show winners have come from in-house departments or freelance professionals. Because awards are based upon scores from out-of-state judges, the primary criteria for winning a Paper Anvil is the quality of your work.
- Opportunity to Judge Entries from Other Chapters
The best way to observe other winning entries is to volunteer for reciprocal judging. Every year we trade with other PRSA chapters from across the country. Once you experience the judging process, you’ll have a full understanding of what it takes to make a winning entry. This year we are judging Southern Public Relations Federation and will be recruiting judges soon.
- Helpful Hints and Latest Information on First Fridays
This year the Paper Anvils committee is going to be sharing helpful information on the first Friday of every month at noon. Continue to follow the PRSA Nebraska Facebook page and check out the monthly e-newsletter and blog posts.
I want to give a quick shout out to the team at Envoy who has volunteered to be our creative sponsor for the year! We do have opportunities for additional sponsors and volunteers who would like to support these awards.
If you have questions feel free to reach out to our 2022 Paper Anvil Awards Chairman, Lyn Wineman, Gala Chair, Liz Bauer, or check out PRSANebraska.org.
