Who won Best of Show in 2020?

The best communication and PR work of 2021 will be on full display at the PRSA Nebraska Paper Anvil Awards Gala on Dec. 2! Many will enter but only one will gain the coveted Best of Show designation, awarded to the highest scoring student and professional campaigns.

In 2020, this top honor went to the University of Nebraska–Lincoln PRSSA Bateman Team for the Student Best of Show and Buildertrend for the professional Best of Show.

The UNL PRSSA Bateman Team won for its “I Count | NEbody Counts” campaign. As part of the campaign, the student team established strategic campus partnerships to influence and educate University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) students about the importance of the 2020 U.S. Census. They also built a presence on social media to inform students of the census by connecting them with relatable and informative content. The Bateman team increased student awareness of the 2020 census from 82% to 90% and reached more than 50 families with young children in the Lincoln community.

The UNL team also secured an honorable mention in the national 2020 PRSSA Bateman Competition.

Buildertrend is a cloud-based software company that offers construction management solutions for home builders, contractors & remodelers. It is headquartered in Omaha, Neb. Buildertrend received the Professional Best of Show honor in 2020 for its “Best Work from Home Ever” campaign.

Buildertrend began a mandatory work-from-home status on Mar. 18, 2020. Knowing this status would be fluid as the COVID-19 pandemic unfolded, the employer brand team built a strategy to maintain a strong sense of community, engagement and connectedness among their workforce of more than 500 employees … from home.

Since they weren’t working in the office, they developed an internal communication plan to ensure that award-winning culture persisted.

Buildertrend sent out a company-wide employee survey to measure its goal of maintaining a strong workplace identity through its internal communication campaign. Results showed an 88.1% favorability rating – which was 12% higher than November of 2019. Additionally, 78.21% said stress level while working from home is manageable and 98% said management effectively communicated with them throughout work from home.

Will your campaign soar the highest and become 2021’s Best of Show? There’s only one way to find out! Be sure to enter your work by the awards deadline of Sept. 28, 2021, at 11:59 p.m. For more information, visit the PRSA Nebraska Paper Anvil Awards page
